The Vuelta de España 2025, part I !!!

I am in back to you with my dear Spain , I have followed the race for many years and several posts which have decided to merge into one post for the older ones! The Vuelta de España bike race !! I really enjoyed it and many family memories of seeing it and eventually witnessed in person, This will be in my black and white series,no pictures, Therefore, let me tell you a bit about the Vuelta de España 2025, part I !!! Many memorable moments over my life and very special at Cuenca (see posts). We were having our vacation in Las Majadas (see posts) and would come down always to Cuenca 

In 2025 La Vuelta will consist of 21 stages and will cover a total distance of 3151 km, from August 23 to September 14, 2025. The distribution of the stages: 4 flat stages (1 with end at high) 6 stages of half mountain ,5 stages of mountain, 1 individual counterreloj, 3 stages wavy with end at high ,and 2 days of rest

Some interesting stages that I would love to watch are : Stage 8 Monzón Templario > Zaragoza 187 km Stage 14 Avilés > Alto de La Farrapona. Lagos de Somiedo 135 km stage 18 Valladolid > Valladolid 26 km stage 19 Rueda > Guijuelo 159 km stage 20 Robledo de Chavela > Bola del Mundo. Puerto de Navacerrada 156 km and final stage 21 Alalpardo > Madrid 121 km,

A bit of history I like tell us that the Vuelta was held for the first time in 1935. Since its inception, the race has been suspended four times: from 1937 to 1940 due to the Spanish Civil War, from 1943 to 1944 due to WWII, and the poor economic situation of Spain, in 1949 and from 1951 to 1954. At the beginning of 1935, Clemente López Dóriga, in collaboration with Juan Pujol, director of the Informaciones newspaper, organized the first cycling vuelta or tour of Spain with a 14-stage route and 3431 km in total. During the late 1950s there were the first triumphs in the general classification of Italian and French cyclists

My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting. Moving average a home every 5.5 years hopefully this will be my last. Cheers All rights reserved.
