We were back to my dear Spain again !! love it !! We came by car of course and took time to see new areas and old repeat with some of them as introduction to my sons and our dog Rex ! I rented a small house in a off the beaten path country town that was just perfect ! I like to continue the saga of our new road warrior experiences even if now with less in our family, This post is on my latest road warrior tour of wonderful sublime Spain. These towns were a surprise as we had extra time with nothing planned so we took into the wonderland and wines of the road CL 610 ! Therefore, let me tell you about this is Serrada !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.
The town of Serrada is located in the province of Valladolid, in the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León of the kingdom of Spain. The town rises on the left margin of the Duero River, about 33 km from Valladolid, 25 km from our town of Velliza, ,and 177 km from Madrid, The town is located upstream and is crossed by the CL-610 regional road, which is directed towards La Seca, This regional road connects with the A6 highway at exit/salida 160 to Madrid.
We saw here the Church of San Pedro ,a Baroque -style church the construction dates from the last third of the 17C, and it is ended in 1773, the date on which the last bodies of the tower were built, It has a single nave, with brick walls and tapial on masonry base. On the side of the Gospel and slightly retired from the facade, the tower is located. It consists of three square bodies built on stone zócalo and a auction room, retracted and octagonal plant. The nave is divided into four sections by pilasters and arches. In the first section, of much less dimension than the following, the chorus on a reduced arc is raise from the left arm of the cruise, which gives way to the sacristy, which is attached to the main chapel on this side of the Gospel and to other units that unite,on the ground floor with the tower, located at the foot. From this same side and ahead of the tower, small stone construction that occupies the Baptistery chapel and its parochial museum.

Next to the above church, the Plaza Mayor, chaired by the superb 18C building that constitutes the Casa Consistorial or City Hall.

Other things to see here me think are the 18C houses that are distributed throughout the town. The good Pozo or well, construction of remarkable popular roots and the place from where the fields are bless. You can focus on pictorial and sculptural art, Serrada is also a mandatory stop point since a series of murals and sculptures that give a certain air of nobility that enhance this beautiful town are disseminated throughout the urban area. In the Paseo del Arte, a good number of works are agglutinated, being a true outdoor museum, with images of renowned artists. Of course, I was on another course but the wonderful known since childhood Bodega Marqués de Caceres, wines of Rueda is here.
Very small agricultural grape wine growing town with no significant history, In the mid -19C, the town had a population of 637 inhabitants , and today it has about 1104.
