The town of Toro is in the province of Zamora, Autonomous Community of Castilla y León in the kingdom of Spain, It is located 46 km from our rental house in Velliza, 62 km from Valladolid , 79 km from Salamanca, 148 km from Avila and 221 km from Madrid. The town stands at 722 meters above sea level. The town is crossed by the roads we took, the Autovia del Duero (A-11) that links Zamora provincial capital with Tordesillas. And the national road N-122 the alternative to the above highway, and more local.

The former Church de La Concepción is one of the most emblematic places of worship in the town of Toro. This religious temple, of Gothic-Mudéjar style, dates from the 16C, and is located in the historic center of the city. Its imposing facade and its bell tower are just some of the characteristics that make this church a unique place that is worth visiting. The Church has a wide and bright central nave, with cruise vaults and windows decorated with stained glass that give an atmosphere of serenity and recollection.

Inside, the former Church de La Concepción houses numerous works of religious art, such as baroque altarpieces, polychrome wood carvings and paintings of great historical and artistic value. Among the most outstanding works is the main altarpiece, carried out in the 17C, it represents the Immaculate Conception surrounded by angels and saints. This church was one of the headquarters of the Ibero -American of Toro in its second edition, The Iberoamericana is the most important art exhibition created by women artists. The aim of this annual exhibition is to contribute to the development of gender parity in the artistic field.

The interior restoration project of the Church de La Concepción with the approval of the project is one more step in the claim of the City Council of Toro to convert the municipal property church in the City Museum. This is already done.
