I like to continue the saga of our new road warrior experiences even if now with less in our family, This post is on my latest road warrior tour of wonderful sublime Spain.  Therefore, let me tell you about the Church of San Pablo of Salamanca !!! The City of Salamanca is capital of the province of Salamanca located in the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León, and in the kingdom of Spain. In 1988, the Old City was declared a World Heritage for UNESCO, The City is located 109 km from Ávila, 121 km from Valladolid, 123 km from Portugal and 214 km from Madrid.

The Church of San Pablo is historically linked to the Trinitarian order, and located at Plaza Colón,15, Originally known as the Church of the Blessed Trinity, it was built in the 17C following the Baroque style, it was consecrated on July 15, 1667. It was part of the convent of the barefoot trinitarians in the Plaza de San Adrián (current Plaza de Colón). From the convent there is only the facade and currently houses the courts of Salamanca, it was previously the headquarters of the Civil Guard after the confiscation of Mendizábal. It acquire the name of San Pablo (Saint Paul) when the parish of that name is installed here for having been in ruins its previous headquarters in 1840. These ruins are currently known as Church of San Polo to avoid confusion with the name. This parish was also installed in the church of San Esteban during the fifty years that confiscation caused no Dominicans in this convent.

From the Church of San Pablo, we must highlight its facade, with a relief of the Trinity, and the image of Jesus rescued inside, being the canonical headquarters of the Congregation of Jesus Rescatado ( rescued), and Our Lady of Las Angustias, It is a diocesan parish church, forming with Santo Tomás Cantuariense the parish of San Pablo and Santo Tomás Cantuariense, governed by the Brotherhood of Diocesan Operating Priests. It is a canonical headquarters of the Congregation of N. P. Jesús Divino Redentor Rescatado (Redeemer rescued), and Our Lady of the Angustias, brotherhood that procession in Holy Week on the afternoon of Good Friday., Since the 19C, it is the headquarters of one of the oldest brotherhoods of Salamanca, the Congregation of Jesus rescued and Our Lady of the Angustias, which takes the image of Jesus rescued in procession, so called because, according to tradition, it was rescued from the hands of Muslims for Trinitarian parents in North Africa, where he was a prisoner along with other images and numerous Christian captives; The reality is that its origin is not known with certainty, it is a sculpture of the 17C made like a similarity of the Christ of Medinaceli of Madrid.
