The Escuelas Menores of the University of Salamanca  were built with a small façade facing the Patio de Escuelas, as an extension of the old Hospital de Estudiantes (student hospital). Previously, there was another building in poor condition in 1503 that underwent several repairs. Its purpose was to prepare students for grammar. In 1510, it was planned to build the Diego Ramírez de Villaescusa school here. The city’s first secondary school was located in this building. Its narrow but beautiful façade was influenced by the solutions adopted in the Escuelas Mayores,(major schools) to the point that some authors believe that they are due to common artists, although this one is somewhat more modern, as it was completed in 1533.

Open two twin semicircular arches, divided by a granite column; In the enjutas, medallions were worked with the busts of Christ and perhaps Hercules and Teseo Comarca: counties and ducats the minor schools of the University of Salamanca rose with a small facade to the courtyard of schools, as a prolongation of the old Student Hospital. It opens two arches Twin semicircular, divided by a granite column; In the enjutas medallions were worked with the busts of Christ and perhaps Hercules and Theseus.

The decoration of the following body is heraldry, in tribute to Carlos V, and thus its shield appears in the center, framed by pilastrillas with grutesques and two two -phase eagles on the sides with three crowns, in clear allusion that he received in Aquothers, Milan, and Rome. The upper frieze contains the papal tiara and medallions of Saint Peter and Saint Paul between reborn ornaments. The patio is almost square and is surrounded by four bays with a single floor with arches of five centers, so usual in the city, on granite columns with capitals and still gothic bases; However, the balance that remains is baroque, made in 1769 that retained, however, Renaissance candlesticks. To this cloister gave the primitive classrooms, now occupied by exhibition halls and administrative dependencies. In one of them, the so -called ‘Cielo de Salamanca 15C is preserved, part of what was the painted ceiling for the primitive library by Fernando Gallego (1473) and transferred here in 1951.The current exhibition rooms are covered with beautiful torque and knuckle and couples of braces.
