Curiosities of Madrid, part XX !!!

We were back to my dear Spain again !! love it !! We came by car of course and took time to see new areas and old repeat with some of them as introduction to my sons and our dog Rex ! I rented a small house in a off the beaten path country town that was just perfect ! I like to continue the saga of our new road warrior experiences even if now with less in our family, This post is on my latest road warrior tour of wonderful sublime  Spain,  Therefore, let me tell you about our arrival first day and walks, bus, metro all over Madrid in curiosities of Madrid, part XX !!! We came as said into Madrid by the Puerta de Moncloa to connect with the Calle de la Princesa and into our easy convenient parking indigo Princesa 5 right off Plaza de los Cubos, Almost facing the wonderful Palacio de Liria and near nice museums and parks, We did our initial walks from here so let me tell you and me all about it ok, Madrid A6 enter city puerta de Moncloa closeup dec24 Madrid parking calle de la princesa 5 dec24 It was just off the parking so we got our light lunch here in the cold terrrase with our dog Rex, We went back again to 100 Montaditos resto on Calle de la Princesa,7  , small sandwiches with omelette chorizos hams ,croquettes, mini ham and cheese sandwich etc , and plenty of cold beers!!! This is a wonderful inexpensive chain very lively place! And, very convenient just after stepping out of the car upon arriving in Madrid for lunch ! Madrid 100 Montaditos resto calle de la princesa dec24 The Calle de la Princesa begins in the Plaza de España and ends in the Plaza de la Moncloa. It is one of the busiest shopping streets in Madrid. You will find the most trendy brands there, aimed at a young clientele. Madrid calle de la Princesa from plaza de España dec24 The monumental complex of double staircase, sculptural groups and fountain La Fuente de los Afligidos,​​ also known as the Cristino Martos fountain,​​ is a fountain located between Calle de la Princesa and Plaza de Cristino Martos. The monument, in its view from Calle de la Princesa, shows three levels of baroque orientation. The fountain, attached to the lower wall of the staircase between two pilasters, shows a nornacina with two dolphins joined by the tail. Among the aquatic mammals, from whose heads water flows, there is a tridacna (shell) from whose pearl-shaped center the water fountain flows. The opening ceremony was chaired by king Alfonso XIII and Victoria Eugenia de Battenberg. Romanones, Blanca de Igual, and Martínez Dabán ( Viscount of Llanteno and councilor of the City Council of Madrid) and Eduardo Callejo de la Cuesta were the speakers, She was a novelist, journalist, essayist, literary criticism, poet, playwright, translator, editor, professor and Spanish lecturer introduction of naturalism in Spain.
