The Plaza de Toros of San Clemente !!!

I like to bring you back to my dear Spain. The family and I went long stays here over the years , and many new places that joined our pantheon of memorable spots; one of these was San Clemente.  There are several posts on the town in my blog. The Plaza de Toros of San Clemente was built on August 29, 1908, and known as La Carmencita for emulating the bullfighting arena in Valencia in a small way. After a deep and complete restoration, it was reopened on April 23, 1995 in a poster formed by “El Litri”, “El Cordobes” and Adolfo de Reyes who fought cattle of Mariano Sanz Jiménez.

Within the town center, halfway from Calle del Carmen, the Plaza de Toros or bullring is located, a civil construction that was inaugurated on August 29, 1908. Its work is made of tapial walls with brick and zócalo gaps stone with decorated tapial coronation. Currently counts after a deep and complete restoration with a capacity of 3K persons seated in addition to the logical dependencies of the patio of horses and crews, nursing, services and slaughterhouse. One more reason for celebration around traditional bullfighting of this town, which dates back centuries, with documentation that testifies to this bullfighting hobby as early as 1538.

The Taurine Cultural Association “Friends of the Plaza de Toros de San Clemente” celebrated its annual bullfighting day at the Clock Posada, The festival held with base at the plaza de Toros are held in April, June, July, September and October. In addition, there can be corridas like in August for the summer break and concerts , arts events etc, The XXX Anniversary of its reopening on the occasion of the traditional coming of the Virgin of Rus, patron saint of San Clemente on April 6, 2024, the matadors Esau Fernández and Borja Jiménez have come to shoulders in a large afternoon of bulls in which the two bullfighters have offered a great show. All this linked to a large run of La Palmosilla, which dealt with two bulls of the ring. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
