The InterContinental Hotel Castellana of Madrid !!!

I love to take you back to my wonderful dear Madrid. Another soft spot in my heart and always come back to it, lucky me. I have written many posts on my dear city and you can tell my inclination for it. It never cease over the years since that day I came upon it in 1971.  The City has many memorable spots since youths days and continue to this retiree guy, I like to tell you on the InterContinental Hotel Castellana of Madrid !!! In my hospitality industry jobs in France, I had the opportunity to stay in some marvelous properties, one of these was the InterContinental Hotel Castellana 49 with a friendly special discount of the junior suite from 280 euros we paid 50! The boys love it with the kimonos and views of the Paseo de la Castellana. This is a blast from the past but many memorable moments and collegues/friends all over Europe, The stayed was a blast at the IHG at Castellana sublime even especially their weekend brunch!

The building was constructed in the middle of the last century on the site of an 18C mansion halfway along the Paseo de la Castellana and has always been inspired by Madrid’s exquisite artistic tradition.  It has 320 rooms and suites with maximum functionality and an elegant style.   Its many services include a wellness centre, gym, business centre, as well as many advantages for families, with spaces and special activities for children. Gastronomy is another of the hotel’s attractions. For more informal dining, the InterContinental boasts Bar 49, specialised in cocktails and light snacks.  And for those who prefer to dine á la carte, El Jardín del InterContinental, with its chef, Miguel de la Fuente, serves the finest international cuisine that can also be savoured on the hotel terrace, which is open in summer.  It also serves a spectacular ‘brunch’ on Sundays.

For the essentials let me tell you the hotel is located in the district of Chamberí ,very good neighborhood of Madrid, It is about 8 minutes’ walk from the ABC Serrano shopping center and 2 km from cultural interests such as the Prado Museum, and the Sorolla museum , Only 250 meters from Gregorio Maranon metro. Other places of interest such as the Las Ventas bullfight arena and Gran Via at 2 km , also only a 25 minute walk from the Santiago-Bernabéu stadiume. It has a private parking that can accommodate 42 cars with 3 chargers for electric vehicles: 1. Universal, 2. Tesla, 3. Porsche. In train, the closest station is Chamartin Renfe train station on metro lines 1 and 10 from Atocha train station, and metro Gregorio Marañon lines 1 and 10, The best bus is from stop in atocha to stop Castellana-Rubén Darío on line 27 from Atocha,a great ride taken it goes to Santiago Bernabeu as well::)

Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
