We are back to my dear Spain again !! love it !! We came by car of course and took time to see new areas and old repeat with some of them as introduction to my sons and our dog Rex ! I came into Tordesillas after several years and it was sublime ! I like to continue my road warrior stories this time in Tordesillas, Therefore, here is my take on the house treaty of Tordesillas !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The town of Tordesillas is located in the province of Valladolid and the autonomous community of Castilla y Léon in the kingdom of Spain, It is 33 km from Valladolid City , 11 km from our rental house in Velliza, and 183 km from Madrid, We walked all over the small town, and saw wonderful monuments. I like to keep them in my blog for the memories of always and return, eventually.
Looking towards the river are the Casas del Tratado or treaty, so called because the negotiations and signing of the Treaty of Tordesillas took place. This is a treaty between Spain (dynastic union of the kingdoms of Castile and Aragon) and Portugal, concluded on June 7, 1494 in Tordesillas under the aegis of Pope Alexander VI, in order to divide the world between an area reserved for Spain and an area reserved for Portugal, as part of the process of major discoveries. The houses where negotiations took place in 1494 finishing in the signing of the Treaty of Tordesillas are two houses converted into the Casa de Cultura to commemorate the 5th Centenary of the treaty. The 16C house on the right is the nearest to the church museum of San Antolín (see post), its ground floor is made of stone with a moulded square door, coats of arms on either side and large rectangular windows. The other house also has the ground floor of stone, accessed through a flattened arch above which are three coats-of-arms, the highest one, below the edging is the royal coat-of-arms.

The Casas del Tratado or houses of the treaty are two united palaces, where tradition places negotiations between Castilla and Portugal and concluded with the signing of the treaty. The oldest house is from the end of the 15C and in it they had place the negotiations of the Treaty of Tordesillas. On its door is the royal shield of the Catholic Monarchs and the heraldic shields of the owners, Alfonso González de Tordesillas and Leonor de Ulloa. The other house is from the second half of the 17C and its great volume and nobility of elements show that it belonged to an illustrious family today the house is use for cultural and tourist purposes. There is a representation of model monuments of Tordesillas from the period of the treaty all over the houses today.
