The Rosaleda del Retiro was designed in 1915 by the major gardener of the town, Cecilio Rodríguez, he was inspired by Rosaleda de Bagatelle in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris, which was the most important landscaped area he designed. They planted roses that arrived from several European gardens and at the time of their creation, it was called Rosería. In the place, it was located a great greenhouse that had belonged to the Marqués de Salamanca. Previously, there was a pond that became ice rink in winter. The Rosaleda was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War, and 4,000 Rosales were replanted in 1941. Between 2001 and 2006, it was completely restored, recovering aged roses in addition to repairing existing metal structures.

It is surrounded by various hedges of Boj and has metallic pergolas in the form of arches. After its remodeling of 2006, the Rosaleda has 5,570 copies of 130 different species of low rose and climbers. Its roses bloom from May to June.
