I am kind of becoming nostalgic and try to remember places I have been in the USA but not lived. Well , if read my blog ,you know I lived in New Jersey and Florida for a total of 31 years…. Yes ! Memories forever. Now let me tell you briefly as memory fades on my visit to Omaha, Nebraska ! Sit back and hope you enjoy the post as I
These were older times before blogging and love of pictures. I used to collect post cards and have still over 1000 of them (from a high of 4K+) , and from a high of 79 countries. Once, began to like photos ,and getting in online travel forums, stop collecting postcards. The story follows with my blog, Therefore, these older spots are few and between on pictures but at least one is enough to light up the memories and this post,
Well my story here is tht way back to around 1984/85 and believe me the city was pretty serious not much to do then watch an American football game, and of course go Cornhuskers! I remember was there on a sales seminar by Mutual of Omaha insurance company !! We stayed in a nice hotel ,can’t remember the name, and ate in fancy restaurant taken a taxi with a group of us but do not remember the restaurant name ,only was Italian cuisine lol! The picture is from the training class I am there ,,,I became for just over a year an insurance salesmen with health and life licenses selling all king of products including IRA retirement and mutual funds with the Mutual of Omaha Ins Company, with my office in Piscataway, NJ in the William Morgan division , not far from home. Here , I also, excel reaching builders’ Club status and was ranked 6th in the nation amongst first year producer/salespersons, and 2nd in the North East region of the USA! Yeah !!!

Omaha is the largest city in the state of Nebraska, Douglas County, United States. It is located in the central plains of the Midwest, east of the Great Plains, Omaha occupies the right bank of the Missouri river, approximately 375 km west of the Mississippi river. The city is nicknamed “The Gateway to the West.” In 1804, the Lewis and Clark Expedition passed where Omaha would be built. Between July 30 and August 3, 1804, members of the expedition met with the leaders of the Otos and Missouris at Fort Atkinson, approximately 30 km from present-day Omaha. South of here, the Americans built several fur trading outposts , Fort Lisa in 1812, Fort Atkinson in 1819, Cabanné’s Trading Post in 1822, and Fontenelle’s Post in 1823 Omaha was founded in 1854 on the banks of the Missouri by speculators from the nearby town of Council Bluffs located on the opposite side of the river in Iowa. A ferry service across this tributary of the Mississippi, the Lone Tree Ferry, earned the city its nickname “Gateway to the West.”
