I take you back to my sublime dear Madrid !! The gastronomy is one of the highlights of my visit always and we love it !! So many to choose from , but we come back to our usual places, memories oblige!. I have written on restaurants and many, but there are always some that have a stronger family meaning to me and feels they deserve a post of their own, Therefore, compiling bits and pieces from other posts let me tell you in one my story with the 100 Montaditos of Madrid !! The 100 Montaditos ,the term refers to an ancient Spanish culinary habit of filling one or two small slices of bread with various ingredients such as cold cuts, meat, fish, vegetables, cheeses or various types of sauces.100 Montaditos has thus decided to take inspiration from this tradition by giving life to a list of a hundred different proposals.  In its service formula a form is filled out with the order that is delivered at the counter and, once prepared, customers are notified through electronic gadget for direct pickup. For snacks or a varied lunch, opt for the low-cost 100 Montaditos . Look out for  Euromania and Jarramania , Tried it all over Madrid ,we have visited with the family the locations at Calle de la Princesa; 22,  Calle Mayor; 18 ,  Plaza de las Cortes; 3 , and T2 international airport Adolfo Suarez of Madrid Memories forever !!

The story for us goes pretty much as follow, making memory here ! I took my family to Madrid and Spain every year we live in France, and of course went eating out everyday, Once having rented our apartment at the foot of this restaurant , we enjoy the ambiance, the food and the prices and came back several times in our stay, This was the 100 Montaditos at Plaza de las Cortes across from the famous Westin Palace Hotel, Once this experience over, in our subsequent trips to Madrid we look for them for lunch and found others even in the airport, It has been a memorable spot for my family and fitting I put up a post on them,

The first 100 Montaditos restaurant was opened in Spain in 2000 on a small beach in Islantilla, Huelva, by the hand of the Seville entrepreneur Jose María Capitán , Cervecería 100 Montaditos is a restaurant chain specializing in sandwiches. The chain had over 350 retail stores in Spain. It has about 100 restaurants in foreign countries: The biggest concentration is in Madrid, Today belongs to the Grupo Restalia group, Restalia is a Spanish multinational restaurant group founded in 2004 that uses the format of themed franchise chains. Its headquarters are located in Pozuelo de Alarcón ,Comunidad de Madrid, and it has its own offices in Rome and Miami. Currently the company has around 750 operating restaurants, three brands and operates in nine countries: Spain, Portugal, Italy, United States, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Guatemala and Costa Rica.

My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
