The calle de la Princesa, and a fountain in Madrid !!!

I have again found me older new picture to my blog that should be in and feel this older post is perfect for it, Each time in Madrid brings family memories of old and always. One very important street as it passes by several monuments is the Calle de la Princesa or Princess street , and here there is a nice palace with lots of history, Therefore, let me tell you about the calle de la Princesa , and a fountain in Madrid !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I. The Calle de la Princesa begins in the Plaza de España and ends in the Plaza de la Moncloa (see posts). It is the dividing line between the Centro and Moncloa-Aravaca districts up to the intersection with Alberto Aguilera and Marqués de Urquijo streets, and Chamberí and Moncloa-Aravaca between Alberto Aguilera and Melendez Valdés streets. The Calle de la  Princesa is one of the busiest shopping streets in Madrid. You will find the most trendy brands there, aimed at a young clientele. SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES The Calle de la Princesa receives its name dating from 1865 from the Infanta Isabel de Borbón y Borbón, known as “La Chata”, (hollow nose) so beloved by the people, and an object of ridicule among the intelligentsia. She was twice Princess of Asturias and died in exile in Paris at a convent in Auteuil. She was buried possibly at the Convent of the Assumption of Auteuil which was founded in 1839 and served as the Mother House of the Religious of the Assumption order, today the convent is gone. On May 23, 1991, by order of King Juan Carlos I, her remains were transferred to Spain and deposited in the Collegiate Church of the Holy Trinity of the Royal Palace of La Granja in (see post) near Segovia together with those of King Felipe V and his wife Isabel de Farnese. Next to the Parque del Oeste stands a sculptural group in memory of her, in the Calle del Pintor Rosales (painter Eduardo Rosales) at No 30. The original fountain, also called the fountain of San Joaquín from 1656, The fountain of the Afflicted or of the Duke of Sesto, this new fountain was promoted within the urbanization process of the new neighborhood created around the Liria Palace in the old stately estate of the Moncloa (Royal Site of Moncloa and before Royal Site of Florida). The Fuente de la Princesa or Princess fountain of 1944, was done for the recovery of Madrid after the Spanish Civil War, and specifically the expansion of the Argüelles neighborhood, a new access was planned between the Plazuela de los Afligidos and Calle de la Princesa. The monumental complex of double staircase, sculptural groups and fountain La Fuente de los Afligidos, also known as the Cristino Martos fountain, is a fountain located between Calle de la Princesa and Plaza de Cristino Martos. The monument, in its view from Calle de la Princesa, shows three levels of baroque orientation. The decorative elements (fountain and vases) are carved in white stone from Colmenar, but the sculptures were made with pink stone from Sepúlveda; The architectural base of the complex is made of granite. The fountain, attached to the lower wall of the staircase between two pilasters, shows a nornacina with two dolphins joined by the tail. Among the aquatic mammals, from whose heads water flows, there is a tridacna (shell) from whose pearl-shaped center the water fountain flows.
