My personal curiosities of Castilla y Léon !!!

And I bring you back to a sentimental region of my beloved Spain. This is Castilla y Léon in the kingdom of Spain. We rode and walked all over there , and even took the bus ! The memories are huge too much to put into words , and will always be, with the hope one day to visit again, eventually, Let me tell you with some personal older pictures of my personal curiosities of Castilla y Léon !!!  The Aqueduct of Segovia is special in that it has been used almost without interruption since Roman times to the present day.  If you are daring and would like to follow the path from outside the city you can. I have gone by car as much as possible and some walk but not done it completely. You have to be in good shape as it is hilly. ou come running if you can to see the Aqueduct and all its splendor, a must ! (see post) It is from the 1C or early IIC  AD, it has 818 meters long ( 2699 ft)with more than 170 arches and its highest point is at Azoguejo with 29 meters (95.7 ft).

The Alcazar of Segovia was erected from the 12C, thanks to the reconquest of Toledo, in 1085, by King Alfonso VI of Castile. Initially built on the remains of a Roman fortress, developments continued until the reign of Philip II in the 16C, The Alcazar of Segovia served as a state prison until 1762. It was transformed into the Royal College of ‘Artillery by King Charles III in 1764. The fortress houses the General Military Archives of Spain from 1898 to today.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting. Moving average a home every 5.5 years hopefully this will be my last. Cheers All rights reserved.
