I come back right at you again with my beloved Madrid , never get tired of seeing it writing, speaking of it. You know me by now right….. This is Madrid! I like to tell you more about a wonderful garden, which as usual lately found me a couple older pictures that should be in my blog , Therefore, here is my take on the Jardines de Sabatini of Madrid, part II !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I
The Jardines de Sabatini or gardens are done in the neo classicist style ,created in 1933 in the spot that occupied the stables built by Sabatini for the Royal Palace (see post) , hence the name. Located in front of the Royal Palace’s northern façade, the gardens were renovated in 1978. It was king Juan Carlos I who opened the park to the public. Located officially at Calle Bailén, 2 ,on the Cuesta San Vicente, and the best way other than walking to it is by metro Opera lines 2,5 and Radial and Sol lines 1 ,2 and 3, Principe Pio line 6 and the bus lines 3,25,39,46,75,138, and 148.

Today, a large, round Fuente de Peces or Fishes fountain with tritons is at the intersection of the two major axes that are surrounded on all sides by quadrants and conifers, with trees arranged along the perimeter. There is also, a statues to Carlos III, The pond is surrounded by statues of Spanish kings some of these are Alfonso X el Sabio, Jaime el Conquistador, Alfonso VIII, Alfonso VI de Castilla, Felipe II, Fernando el Católico, Isabel la Católica ,and Fernando III el Santo, At sunset the views over the gardens is awesome !! One more reason to come to Madrid! The Sabatini gardens are gorgeous and really can spend an afternoon strolling it very nice,

The renovation completed in 2022 has created a space that is highly focused on pedestrians. The expansion of the Plaza de España, (see post) eliminating the traffic on this part, communicates directly with the access to the Sabatini Gardens, creating one of the best places to walk in Madrid.
