Curiosities of Cau Mau, Vietnam !

Let me tell you a bit more about Vietnam and my many trips there over the years, I found new older pictures not in my blog yet and they should so here they are on nice Cà Mau, Hope you enjoy this post curiosities of Cà Mau as I.

Briefly, Cà Mau is the capital of the province of Cà Mau. It is located in the Mekong Delta, 360 km southwest of Ho Chi Minh City.  Ca Mau province is served by National Highway 1A, National Highway 63, and Quan Lo-Phung Hiep Highway. The area is Vietnam’s biggest shrimp exporter. Bordered by the sea on three sides, it has the most developed fleet fishing in the Mekong Delta. It is also the largest aquaculture area and the largest production in the country.

I first came via air to the small Cà Mau airport, which serves the town of Cà Mau. It is served only by the Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO), which I took and they operates an exclusive connection between Cà Mau and Hồ Chí Minh City (HCMC).

I drove around the town to see and feel the local ambiance, and then settle for lunch at the local Guyen Thanh (see post for more) resto where I had some excellent big scallops and tropical fish that can grow to several hundred kilos and they had for display we ate the smaller ones ::)  The resto is a tropical paradise with a property made for events and weddings, very nice.

There are many massage parlors along the main road N1 and took the picture out of curiosity, Also, the famous burgers are all over even here in Cà Mau with the national chain Lotteria, again just out of curiosity and memories of passing by the City,

Its always hard to find official Tourism information on Cà Mau ,the general Vietnam tourist office: https://vietnam.travel/

As went there as French, got plenty from French language webpages such as the Mekong Delta area on Ca Mau in French: https://www.mekongtourisme.com/destination/detail/Ca_Mau_38.html

There you go folks, another dandy in nice Vietnam, This is Cà Mau in the south, worth the detour. I had lots of good times there and very friendly folks which still in touch thanks to the networks. Cà Mau was an off the beaten path trip and nice memories. Again hope you enjoy the post as I

And remember, happy travels, good health, and many cheers to all !!!

Again, Da Nang in Vietnam !!

So here I am reviewing with new text and old photos, but new to the blog, on my memorable trips to  Da Nang, Vietnam. I was there several times, amazing trips and good cheers, good friends, by air and by car on the road warrior ride I love. I have written before on Da Nang but here is a bit more, Hope you enjoy the post as I

Da Nang city has been a hub of foreign culture for hundreds of years. The French Imparted their rich and colonial architecture, whereas modern Chinese and Korean investment has generated a plethora of delicious food options. As for the infrastructure, experts from Singapore have been called on to turn Da Nang into a ‘garden city’ by 2030.

There are severail nice hôtels , casinos, and the rotating bridge as well as the famous dragon bridge that spurs fire at night Fridays and Saturdays. A very nice picture taking spot by all visitors.

There are several beaches and just drove by them with the exception of My Khe which my hotel was across !  The more popular ones, such as My Khe and Non Nuoc, are relatively close to the city center. My Khe beach is a 32-mile stretch of white sand beach that is approximately 6 km east of Da Nang. The beach is in Phước Mỹ district which is the central area for tourists.  The southern beaches are the most popular ones in Da Nang. They are located by the road going from Son Tra Peninsula all the way to Hoi An. This big stretch of sand has been divided into few beaches: Pham Van DongMy Khe, Bac My Anh and Non Nuoc. To explore the northern beaches of Da Nang you need a scooter. Lang Van Beach, Xuan Thieu Beach and Thanh Binh Beach are all located close to the Hai Van Mountain and Hai Van Pass. They are less popular with locals and visitors and therefore ideal for water sports and some relaxing time.

There are several nice pagodas , the best known is the Linh Ung pagoda on Son Tra peninsula is possibly the most famous as it hosts the highest Guanyin Statue in Vietnam. Standing on My Khe beach, you can see the giant white statue overlooking the Pacific ocean. It is considered as a symbol of Da Nang city. However, did not see this one. There are others such as Hoa Phuoc Pagoda, a shrine to worship Shakyamuni Buddha, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, is a beautiful temple with nuns who practice and take care to beautify the temple, so it is very clean and tidy. This shows the achievements of the cultivation and care of the nuns and nuns here. The one I saw was the Bao Minh Pagoda Chùa Bảo Minh, The temple is located on Pham Hung street, looks very dignified and quiet The design of the temple is very unique and ancient, bringing a sense of peace when coming to the temple.
