Curiosities of the Americas !! Part III

Looking at my vault, found some older pictures on paper and took my electronic camera to take picture of the pictures and use them in my blog. This allows me to show in my blog places not shown or pics with new angles of places shown in the blog. Nostalgia sets in and here I go on the curiosities of the Americas !!, Part III.

Aventura is conveniently located between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, just east of I-95 in Florida USA. The northern boundary of the City is the Miami-Dade/Broward County line, the western boundary is the Florida East Coast Railway (FEC), the eastern boundary is the intracoastal waterway and the southern boundary is NE 176th Street. One of our most memorable trip while living there was to go visit Pierre Books or official the Pierre International Bookstore at 18185 Biscayne Boulevard. Here we had our French language and many memorable moment with the owner Belgian born Vivianne Friedlich, and husband Pierre,  which my wife became very good friends and we had all the French movies transfer to the US system for dvd movies. Later once in France we heard the store was moved to Hollywood for better rental costs, and officially closed several years back, without hearing from Vivianne maybe she reads my posts and contact me! John Berkely “Peanuts” Taylor was the main name behind the wonderful Drumbeat Club in 1964. Years after the closing of these clubs, he would re-open The Drumbeat again at The Nassau Beach Hotel in 1975 and subsequently at its final location near the British Colonial Hotel downtown Nassau. West Bay street, which where I caught up with him, the club staying at a hotel just steps from the British Colonial which name escapes me (see picture) next to the El Greco hotel is now, The British Colonial is also closed as all are unfortunately , here for the memories of always.
