And I come full circle back to my early steps in my belle France. These are the types of places you never forget, appreciate and glad they happened. I have my jobs in Paris, lived in Versailles, and worked in Cergy St Christophe (95) and this wonderful Suresnes (92) (memorable Rue du Port aux Vins! )before kicking myself into the celtic world of the Bretons of the Morbihan (56) where I am now.

As my blog is part wholly of my life, let me tell you about a place I worked for a couple of years and still with good friends in touch even coming for visits to me in my new Morbihan! Oh yes for the geographical incline, Suresnes is in Hauts de Seine dept 92 of the Ïle de France region!
There are many wonderful to things to see , and I have told you about them in other posts ,such as the inspiring American Cementary , and the moving Mont Valérien. We walked around the town for me nice memories of a good company and friends that still in touch, one must move on for better without forgetting the old good moments, and Suresnes was a very good moment. And of course great public transports to leave my car in the basement garage at work and just go over quick to Paris by metro, bus or tramway…. for more enjoyment! And of course from Suresnes why not drive into the Bois de Boulogne! This is just done going over the pont de Suresnes bridge and into the Porte Maillot Paris ! All nice memories flashing as I write, never to be forgotten.
After working in town, decided to bring the family to see my footsteps as I usually have done in many places. I chose the Campanile hotel right before going into the Pont de Suresnes; a wonderful chain that I have used before in France. It was always a great moment at lunch or even before leaving for home to stop by just across my job to the dam-lock on the Seine river along the Quai Gallieni. It is made up of three locks and two dams (the latter being separated by the island of Puteaux). It is 185 meters long, 18 meters wide and 5 meters deep. A great feeling by the sea and the Seine to boot!
And yes why not, I took the train here too; just to show my family the area as to work came by car…you know…The Suresnes-Mont Valérien train station is hilly but easy from the Gare Saint Lazare in Paris. Another world but worth a look, especially if visiting the area. Nice hilly climb from the Seine, good for you …….
Of course, as most will be coming by public transports, you know coming to Suresnes from Paris is very easy. Any train station can get you here by train, RER E , metro, bus 93 etc. Both Roissy CDG and Orly are accessable as well in combination direct bus roissybus ,and tramway. All in less than an hour. As I walked down the train station or walking around at lunch time, you can see the wonderful Hôtel de Ville of Suresnes. Built in a neo Classical style, and moving into in 1889, the city/town hall was bombarded in 1940 during WWII ,and the reconstruction took long until 1992! Inside it houses a monumental double revolution staircase and high attics. The statues of its facade are adorned with statues of Law and Justice. Inside there are many frescoes on the walls and ceilings.
