We are booked for Disneyland Paris!! the boys wishes and I oblige. It will be a logistic effort coming with my Dad and dog Rex! We are coming!!! As this is the norm nowdays , do not want to wait for next post. Therefore, here is the latest on the healthh pass now needed to do many things due to the virus. The vaccination we are told is not obligatory but seem from what they will ask you it looks to me that is a hidden agenda, obligatory. In digital or paper format, the health pass is now essential to attend certain major events where the crowds exceeds 1,000 people or when the premises are closed. Available via the TousAntiCovid application, the pass contains your personal data (last name, first name, date of birth) as well as information confirming that you are immunized, or vaccinated or that you have performed a negative RT-PCR (or antigen) test less than 48 hours. You would needed to attend these events: Theater rooms, sporting or cultural performance venues, conference rooms, – Trade shows and exhibition fairs, – Stadiums, outdoor establishments and indoor sports establishments, – Theme parks, – Large casinos, – Sit-and-stand festivals outdoor, – Outdoor sports competitions in the open (“if the feasibility conditions are established” specifies the government), – Cruises and passenger boats with accommodation for more than 1000 passengers, Other events, when they are more localized like balls organized by communities. Since June 9, as with any travel within the European Union, this health pass becomes mandatory for travel. The same goes for the inhabitants who come to metropolitan France. The health pass can be used until when? Until September 30, 2021. There you go , we took our first ,the second pfizer shot is due for 20 july.
The dikes are a major solution to prevent the risk of flooding. They are particularly numerous across France. One in two towns has it, which gives a cumulative length of 9000 km in France. Built parallel to the course of the river and raised above the natural terrain (sometimes in the form of an embankment), these structures can be developed differently depending on their location. Dikes are therefore regularly restored across France, so that they regain optimal functioning. This is the case, for example, in Senlis (Oise 60), where worked was launched in 2020. While a 65% reception level will be imposed during the month of July, the question of the application of the health pass to be presented at the entrance to nightclubs is under discussion. I am sure it will be asked and curfew will still be at 23h (11pm).The date is close to July 15 2021.
A huge flag hanging from the Eiffel Tower called out to Parisians. It was a full-scale test before the handover between the Tokyo Olympics and those in Paris in 2024 next August. A flag the size of a football field flew this past Tuesday on the Eiffel Tower. It foreshadows another that will be hoisted on August 8 by the organizing committee of the Paris 2024 Olympics. Thanks to the 2024 Olympics, soon a footbridge for pedestrians and bicycles facing the Stade de France? While the swing bridge installed in this sector has been down for months, negotiations must lead to the construction of another footbridge before the Olympic Games, which will finally open up the district of Franc-Moisin, located on the other side. As we recall, Paris will be home to the Olympic Games in 2024 … and hope, by then, to have time to reinvent itself. The organization of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games thus unveiled the future Olympic site at Place de la Concorde. Air France names an Airbus A321 “Meaux”. A ceremony was organized this past Friday morning on the tarmac at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport in the presence of the mayor of Meaux, Mr Copé (Seine-et-Marne 77 ) and the CEO of Air France. The airline company gave the name of the city of Bossuet to an aircraft that entered service in 2002. Ah yes here for me, Meaux is special (see my posts).
Closed for three months, the Rambolitrain houses around 4,000 exceptional pieces for lovers of the miniature train. The train museum reopens its doors today 9 june Wednesday, like many cultural places. Almost 4,000 pieces, sometimes valuable, are on display to democratize the history of these toys and of this bygone era. Wonderful worth the trip to Rambouillet (Yvelines 78) my kids when young took them there and love it. (see post).

Still little frequented by tourists, the 15C castle is competing with two other sites in the Ile-de-France region in Stéphane Bern’s program “The favorite monument of the French”, on France Télévisions. You have until June 11 to vote. Former royal, imperial and presidential residence, the castle of Rambouillet served as a holiday resort for great personalities. Filmmaker and collector Bruno Decharme has just donated 900 works of art brut to the Center Pompidou.(see post) This entry confirms the craze for a genre that has long remained confidential, created by misfits, autodidacts and tormented minds. The artists who join Beaubourg today are called Aloïse, Madge Gill, Adolf Wölfli, Henry Darger, Pascal-Désir Maisonneuve, Augustin Lesage or Fleury Joseph Crépin. For the most part, they are marginalized people held to be crazy, sophisticated minds lost in the twists and turns of their unconscious, passionate self-taught, tormented simpletons. All of them produced an “art brut”, theorized in 1945 by the artist Jean Dubuffet, who thus referred to creators who were irreducible to the standards of scholarly culture. Nice addition anyway.
On a clear day, this is undoubtedly the best view of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage and even of the English cliffs! The Canche lighthouse on the Opal Coast perched at more than 57 meters, this monument more urban than maritime was built in 1949 and put into service in 1951. Octagonal in shape with concave faces, this tower made of concrete and brick has the particularity of being located 800 meters away from the sea, at the hinge between town and forest. Inside, 274 steps lead to the top of this building, which has been listed as a historic monument since 2011. In the former keeper’s house converted into a museum, an exhibition traces the history of the ancient maritime fires of Le Touquet. Visits all summer, Saturdays and Sundays. After several weeks of debate, the ephemeral terraces will become “summer terraces”, announced this Monday, June 7, the mayor of Paris! Every year from April 1 to October 31, restaurateurs will have permission to install chairs and tables in parking spaces or in front of closed shops. To limit noise pollution and the worry of local residents, the summer terraces will have to close at 22h compared to 02h for the traditional terraces. A feast for the eyes to be enjoy it now!

Head to the 9éme arrondissement, rue du Faubourg Montmartre, not only to (re) discover the exhibition dedicated to Banksy, but above all… to sleep there. Since the launch of the latter in 2019 at Espace Lafayette-Drouot, the queue has never been empty. And from today Wednesday June 9, next to the entrance of this former garage, a hotel-museum offering copies of works by the street artist will open its doors. Inspiration? The Walled Off Hotel, a hotel opened by Banksy himself in 2017 in Bethlehem, West Bank. Copied from the latter, the Parisian hotel will offer around twenty rooms decorated in the colors of the artist’s works, and, in the common areas, reproductions made by other street artists such as that of the little girl with the red balloon. All summer, Chloé Charles (just watching her it Top Chef!!) takes over the stoves of the Carnavalet museum to offer us vegetal and committed cuisine. To celebrate its reopening, the Carnavalet Museum will entrust its kitchens to Chloé Charles, former Top Chef candidate. And Sangria has become a popular drink all over simple refreshing great in Summers at least. Well now there is a popular concept taking shape on the rosé sangria which, as you might expect, is made from Spanish sangria and rosé wine. I will give you a simple recipe that we have try at home! For about 5 persons ,you will need: A bit more than a bottle of rosé wine 15 cl of grapefruit juice , one grapefruit,one orange one lemon 40g of powdered sugar, and a few seasonal fruits to add to the mix for more color and presentation optional but worth it and can add a bit more fruit. Regarding the preparation, it takes about 10 minutes and is frankly simple: after washing and drying the citrus fruits, cut them into slices then cut them into regular cubes. Gather them in a large bowl, cover with powdered sugar. Pour in the rosé wine and grapefruit juice. Leave to rest for at least 2 hours in the fridge, the time for the rosé to soak up the scent of the fruit. Serve well cold. Buen provecho or bon appétit!!
