A repeat at and around Surabaya

And I came back to Surabaya and Ngoro areas even going to Sidorarjo, by car! This is like my 7th trip to this area of Indonesia and always exotic and thrilling.

I had my first soaking wet trip under heavy rain that can get flooding very quickly here. I took the first low cost domestic flight here on Wings Air from Surabaya to Yogyakarta (see previous post); all very nice and quick and some exotic foods along the way.

I stayed here in my by now home in the area, the Somerset Hotel and Residences. Very centrally located and restaurant lane just a few blocks on foot from it. It is well located off the main highway for in and out quick which helps in traffic flooded Indonesia.

While going to Yogyakarta , I had lunch at the restaurant Pringsewu in a magnificent setting with all exotic local foods some are even hard to remember or spell ! The grill fish is to kill for it thus. A wonderful coconut and orange drink as well. More here: http://pringsewuresto.co.id/

We did some walking in Yogyakarta around the airport as it is right in town; and we did drove to Sidoarjo where I took a city center picture passing by.

Surabaya has some nice shopping and the hotel is almost a whole property to itself with basketball, tennis and gym as well as pool areas. A great bar and night horror theme events where you got two for one drink at the Somerset.

Comparing to previous visits ,this one was a quicker more business like stay and it serves just to come back to some areas that by now looks familiar. It is a great stepping stone to Bali as well.  See search in the blog to read about other times in Surabaya, Indonesia.

Enjoy the photos and I move on…
