My new home of Pluvigner in the Morbihan Breton III

ok so the Sundays are quiet, restful days here, most is close but in this country town in the Morbihan city center or downtown is alive and kicking with the bars, bakeries and restaurants. Some like the one we visited today open again today at 19H!!!

I am getting ready for a twirling run of Asia for work so today is preparation day for me. Not wanting to leave just like that took the family and including my dear Papà to lunch in a typical area restaurant about 12 minutes walking from our home. Yes, you read right now I can walk to the services,city govt, restos ,stores etc just like a big city neighbor only with the coziness of country living.

Today was the highlight to try Poull houard restaurant, here is the webpage , http://www.poullhouad.fr/  As you can see its right in city center, at 23 Place Chazelles , this is just diagonally to the town’s main church of Saint Guigner, and just after the main Place du Marché.  The restaurant is open for lunch between 12-14h on Tuesdays to Fridays and Sundays. Then in the evenings from 19h to 22h30 Tuesdays, Wednesdays , Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Then , you have the so call  “apéros-bière”  , from Fridays to Sundays from 18h30 to 20h. This is the Duck’Ale brew right on the place, by the owner himself, nice beer if a bit coarse , however, great price at 2,70€ for 25cl and 8€ for a bottle of 75cl.

The husband and wife team who lives at the place and rent chambre d’hôte above, are from the region of Paris who moved here many years ago, for the last 2 years they have open this restaurant combining fresh local produce and cuisine with the inventive ideas of the Paris area. All very nicely done and very friendly chatting welcome on recipes, vendors for decorations, and just the everyday life of the town.

Highly recommended if passing by or in town to have your lunch or even better dinner here. The food, welcome, and quality are second to none. I took some pictures of the resto, rare for me but worth it. We had the Italian dinner menu on Sundays, st jacques in penne and pasta sauce,  pissaladière, tiramisu ,and plenty of Duck’Ale home brew beer by the bottle.there was, also, pizzas, escalopes de veau jambon avec figues or ham veal with stuffed figs, and scoops of ice cream, etc. All good.All about 20 euros per person.

Now ,I am back home really quickly to finish my packing for the trip tomorrow, and will be back end of October, so bear wait for me, and we will be in touch again in wonderful France, and exhilarating Morbihan ::)
