Versailles my royal town, once again we met….

Well here I am again writing about Versailles. After spending almost 10 years of my life coming back it seem odds, at first its like it is your first time and then as the day go on, you realise geez I lived here, that is why it is so easy to move about lol! Yes, I am nostalgic about Versailles.

I was going to pickup my father at CDG, but the opportunity was too tempting not to stop by and have lunch here. So we did; my boys came along too.

Everybody should at least once in their lifetime visit Versailles, and believe me its a lot more than a castle/palace/museum. The city has many historical building link to the history of France Europe and even other countries like the USA. We only had one short few hours before we headed back to Auray in the breton Morbihan ,that we call home today.

I got to take some photos of the Roissybus at CDG that takes you to the Opera in Paris ,and saw the bus 350 that takes you from CDG to gare de l’Est in Paris. This is the info on the roissybus ,and the info on the bus 350

Of course I drove my car from Brtittany 6 hrs and 580 kms to CDG T2E parking PEF,see the photo on the route; all the way on the D768/N165/N166/N24/A84/N175/A13/BP Paris/A1 on porte de la chapelle to CDG T2E. We left on the A104/Francilienne direction cergy pontoise to the link up with the A15 continue under the bridge and pick up N184 to St Germain en Laye and then N13 to Versailles. Lovely ride even in the rain lol!!!

Passing Saint Germain en Laye, we had no time this time than to passed by its train station Centaure for the SNCF trains. and continue to do some shopping in Orgeval Art de Vivre shopping center with a must visit to the Game video games store lol!! This is a very good shopping and eating place right off the exit sortie 7 n the A13 direction Rouen and west; webpage so visited some of our old hangouts.

And we hit Versailles, where I passed by my O Paris pub now closed on daytime, and we had lunch at the Tavern de Maitre Kanter at 5 Rue Colbert very near the castle on the right side looking at castle. webpage here We had a bottle of red Joseph Drouhin burgundy wine, steaks and fries, choucroute paysanne , with oysters as entry, desserts from creme brulée to ice creams banana splits, and others for 153€ for five not bad with a look at the Chateau de Versailles ! location bring the price high but the view and ambiance is magnificent.

I,then, walk Versailles, on the parvis place d’armes, to the grande ecuries, the ave de Paris, ave Charles de Gaulle, de l’Europe, St Cloud, Sceaux, just the center very little time, but enough to feel that the city never left us, and we still belong there. One day we will return….. Enjoy the photos. Have a great week everyone!
