Thanksgiving Americana in Paris

Often I have been asked about American celebrations in France. One that really comes on top is Thanksgiving. Do we have it here? Is it the same at the table? Are you giving stuffings? Cranberry sauce? How, Where, can one enjoy this wonderful tradition while away from home and in Paris France.

The answer is very simple, YES, its alive and well spreading in the Paris region with every year more and more and the French are coming too. You have the usual way of getting American goods in Paris, and do it yourself at home. Two of the best on site for ingredients and information on how to do it are the grocery stores Thanksgiving, and the Real McCoy.

In addition to these diehard places I have enjoyed over the years, you can ask the US embassy or myself for places organisations where the event is held. If you want to participate let me know ahead of time. In Paris, you have the American Club, Association of American Residents Overseas,Association of American wifes of Europeans, Franco-American Chamber of Commerce, American University Clubs of France, etc etc etc.

The latest for me was the AUC =American University Clubs event at les Arches du Marais, 11 rue de Braque, 75003; metro Rambuteau (line 11), some of the following pictures are from the event that took place November 25th 2010.

Happy Thanksgiving !!!!
